Appeal!

On Sunday morning, there is a concert by the local Ysgol Feithrin children - that's Welsh language nursery schools. It would be great if as many people as possible could help us give out leaflets to the parents, who are just starting out on the road of educating their children through the medium of Welsh. For the non Welsh speakers, this can be quite intimidating, and the availability of a simple Welsh course will be of huge interest to them. Similarly, the Welsh speakers will already be coming into constant contact with people who would love to help their children in Welsh, but can't. SSiW will be a massively useful tool for them in attempting to get more Welsh services for their children.

The concert is in the morning, so we want to give out leaflets to the departing crowd at about 11.30. Ideally, we'd like to have every exit from the pavilion covered, so that everyone gets a leaflet! Come for a cuppa in Maes D first, and collect however many leaflets you'd like to give out.

For anyone who would love to contribute to our efforts, but doesn't want to (or most likely can't!) dedicate a morning or afternoon to helping in the stand, this is a perfect "you decide" opportunity. You can collect leaflets from Maes D - 5 or 500 depending on what time you can realistically spare - give them out and enjoy the rest of the day with the glowing "I've helped out" feeling.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all there!

I'll be there with Tegwen. Dim problem. :D

Please DO read the forum guidelines. And how about putting up a poster or two in your locality?

I am REALLY disappointed to say that, owing to family illness, I shall not be able to get to the Eisteddfod after all. If anyone is available to replace me on the SSIW stand on Monday morning, I'd be grateful if they would make themselves known to Iestyn.

Huw - you will be missed, but your family must come first. I hope everything turns out well, and I'll look forward to seeing you in the future.

All the best
