Northern 6B on google groups

Postby LozzieGal » Mon Jul 26, 2010 8:40 pm

Um when I try to play this, it turns into the quicktime logo and then a question mark appears on it.
What does that mean?!! I have quicktime player on my computer... so why can't I play it?! :ing: I have mac by the way, in case anyone else has had this issue. :-|

Loz - you might try saving it to your computer instead of just playing it. Try right-click on the link and then "save link as" or just "save as" (whatever like that your computer gives you). Then you can save it to your computer. When I try it, it just asks me if I want to open it in my MP3 player. But google can be rather tetchy about things like that sometimes, so try saving it to your computer and playing it there.

That's on a PC. If you're using a Mac, then someone else will have to help you. (Sorry... )

Sorry, it's working okay for me, so it's not the file.

You might like to try doing a right click on the link and downloading it to your computer, and see how it goes there...:)

Hope you have the mp3 thing sorted soon. Sorry I can't contribute anything more helpful..

Nope it won't let me save it either. :ing: I'm not computer-challenged either - usually I can work these things out by trying a variety of things but no go. I have been trying to save it from the hyperlink that says "northern version" because once I've opened the file, I can't make a menu appear when I right click.

I haven't had any trouble with any of the other files :(

LOL Gary yes I did a 23 hour flight in a flying fried-out combi. CRIKEY! :)

I don't have a car at the moment and the price of petrol is painful I have been eyeing off some nice little cars in the Canton car yards... mmmm probably should get a job first.

the Southern version is available from the iTunes store as podcasts.
That's how I got it.
I don't think the Northern version is available there. I could be wrong.

Hope you don't mind my sliding away slightly from the main thread of this thread :!: but if you wanted to find out details like fuel consumption, insurance group etc of cars you are interested in, You could try http://www.autotrader.co.uk. Search for the car you want, click on the advert and you may find some tabs (if the advert placer has paid for it) that give those details. That way you can see how good it is on fuel not only on open roads but in the city as well. Good luck! Pob lwc!
I hear singers can earn good money. You might like to try that... :harhar:

Slide away! Going off on tangents is one of my hobbies. I will certainly check it out - thankyou for being so thoughtful!

Yes, I am trying to get some singing work but funnily enough, the people who I want to sing for are away on holiday at the moment  So I have to wait till they get back. I'm planning on making a living out of singing, despite how difficult the odds are.

Meanwhile, I've given up on this northern bonus lesson. Nothing will let me hear it or save it. :-? My macbook is only 18 mths old so cant imagine it's because of an issue with my computer... I also update the software regularly too.
