Next steps - recording French

Postby Aran » Thu Jul 15, 2010 2:43 pm

I think I'm right that we're just waiting for lesson 6.2 before we'll have the first 6 (7) lessons - at which stage, it seems like the right time to get to grips with some recording, so we can get feedback on that before pressing on with more translating. What do you think?

Thanks to an early submission from Susanne for Finnish, we've been forced to realise that we hadn't thought carefully enough about how the recording was going to work - Spenny is currently doing an updated version of the software which we think is going to make it a lot easier...:)

I believe that John/Erkenbrand is happy to have a shot at the recording - so as soon as we're ready, I'll give you a shout, John!...:star:

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a brief look through the lessons and see if there are any points of translation that you need to standardise? It is important that we keep to one way of presenting each phrase...

Just a reminder that I'd be happy to help with the recording if needed particularly if John/Erkenbrand needs a reserve soon or in the future. A French friend told me once "tu parles français comme une vache espagnole". I have since learned, however, that when a Spanish cow talks French, it is impossible to tell they are not French :harhar:

If we can, I'd like to stick to first language speakers as the presenters - but it is great to know that we have back-up available...:D

I'd love to hear the French one when it's up. So rusty after 30 years of no practice. Even when I left school I wasn't fluent.

Aran, can you sent me the first lesson, no commitment yet mind, to see if I'm able to do the sound files. My friend Currach is in Ireland now so he can help with with the spelling, which I'm lousy at. (Irish)

Now that, I have to say, I really, really love the thought of. First couple of lessons on their way in a moment...:star:
